Coach Rachel
Run happy
About me I grew up loving to run. I spent my childhood running around the forest that surround our home, playing soccer, and running track. My very first organized race was in elementary school, it was a “mini-marathon” 2.62 miles. I mostly remember going out way too hard, hitting a wall, wondering when it would be over, but finishing with a smile and wanting to do it again! In my 20s I ran for sanity and a break from the monotony of work and school. It wasn’t until my 30s when a neighbor invited me to run with his trail running group that I found my people. I signed up for a 40 mile trail race right away, it wasn’t unlike how I remembered my very first race in elementary; going out too hard, hurting, but loving every minute. I eventually realized that hiring a coach could help me focus and keep me from over doing it, and I want to pay that forward and help other runners reach their goals and limit their injuries as well. My coaching philosophy is that anyone can be a runner, you just need a plan and the desire. I like to work with runners by creating flexible schedules around their lives. With lots of communication we can achieve PRs! My husband and I live with our whippet mix on the east coast. When I’m not running, I can be found gardening, painting, or reading. |
